Tiffany lamps were originally made by Louis Comfort Tiffany in the 19th century. He started working with colored glass in the 1870′s and made stained glass windows for churches.

Tiffany lamps and lampshades are still made using the same traditional methods today. The lampshades are made from several pieces of coloured stained glass which are soldered together.

Tiffany lamps are great as accent lighting in the home, adding an elegance not found in modern designs. The jewel coloured stained glass throws brilliant shards of light onto walls and ceilings, and a Tiffany lamp will transform a dark corner into something magical.
